Do you believe in the wisdom of the soul?

Do you believe in the wisdom of the soul? What are some examples when soul wisdom was demonstrated in your experience?

The wisdom of the soul is wisdom that comes from God.  Therefore, if I believe in God, I believe that he gives us wisdom when we need it.  In my case, the wisdom only comes after I have made a wrong decision.   It's funny how God uses our life's errors  to teach us His will.

Right, soul wisdom, as differentiated from the ego's, is God's wisdom. Life's challenges can be the greatest teachers. If we learn through them, God has revealed His wisdom.

Beautiful, @sherrituck. I too have learned like this. But my most divine moments have been when I gave up ego altogether and allowed God's will to flow through my true self (immortal soul) within in real time. I long to make that permanent.

    Is there another true wisdom?
Everyday it is demonstrated how little my self knows and how much my soul can tell.

And the antidote to that ego self is humility, love, responsibility and the rock-solid fearless confidence known as faith.

Wisdom begins when we admit that truly we do not know. Love helps us honor and extend compassion even to the ego-based self. Responsibility helps in reminding us when ego has kicked in.Faith helps us understand our soul wants only what's best for us.

I no longer believe. I know.

Soul wisdom is divine wisdom. Ego is corrupt and the source of all evil.

One potent example occurred in rush hour traffic in 1977, on Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles. I had, within 2 minutes, 6 people and their cars assault mine and force their ways in front of mine. My ego became enraged. I thought drivers had started a contagious disease of insanity.

Then, I stopped myself, on the verge of gargantuan frustration and rage. I suddenly realized that I was 100% responsible not only for the feelings stirring inside of me, but also for the events in my environment toward which I was flowing my frustration. And now, I was no longer fixated on that powerful emotion. Now, I felt suddenly free, light and invulnerable.

I had gone in an instant from victim to a viewpoint of humble forgiveness. Those other drivers could have done anything they wanted to me and I would not have minded. I was free from harm, because I was taking 100% responsibility for anything they might do. If felt the wisdom of the soul well up inside me.

The next moment, I pictured a different result instead of the thick traffic. I pictured wide open spaces and smooth sailing all the way to my destination. My master -- my true self -- my soul -- was awake and with the faith of the timeless self, I allowed that picture into persistence. The next instant, the car directly in front of mine moved into the already crowded lane to the left. Left and right, cars ahead of me evacuated to the already snarling lanes on either side, leaving the center lane wide open for as far as I could see -- two miles! Like Moses parting the Sea, the raging walls of cars on either side held their positions and did not flood back into the empty center lane.

My forgiveness of the 6 drivers was so thorough that I forgot all about them. It took me over 30 years to realize that the first cars to evacuate the space in front of me were the very same ones who had assaulted my car moments before. I had no desire for payback -- only a generous sharing of that glorious breakthrough of divine wakefulness.

Very nice comment. Wow that knowing is freeing. I think that traffic is designed to test our faith. Or better said,,,, traffic reminds us of what we already Know.

Thanks for sharing an insightful experience. I believe all of us had had a taste of similar experiences sometime in the past. It's now just a matter of our making it a consistent present moment's choice.

@Ericdierker, "reminds us of what we already Know." Exactly, if only we will listen to that quiet, still voice, instead of the loud and boisterous ego.

And @Quirinus, yes -- consistent! I hunger for it.
